Among its best-performing EDiR candidates, the EBR has selected six promising young radiologists from different countries and different backgrounds to form the “EDiR Holders” team.
The EDiR Holders are responsible for creating new material that is published weekly on the blog with a view to helping other radiologists prepare for the EDiR.
Dr. Shweta Agarwal is one of the most renowned radiologists in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today with over 12 rich years of experience. She currently leads breast imaging and diagnostic services at Allied Medical Center in Dubai. Additionally, gold medals and honours in MBBS and DMRD adorn her long list of achievements.
As an adept lead specialist breast radiologist, with extensive experience in performing and interpreting basic radiological procedures and interventional radiological procedures, she has well-rounded skill sets in diagnostic and management aspects.
She aims to grow professionally and work in a breast unit with professionals who are in the upper echelon of the field.
Senior Radiologist, MBBS, DMRD, DNB, FRCR (UK) with GMC registration, EDiR
Dr. Marcin Czarniecki completed his training in Europe, and works at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as a fellow. He holds the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) and trained in Warsaw, Poland and in Cambridge, UK. His work later took him to the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland where he researched novel prostate imaging. He is interested in prostate imaging, information technology and medical education.
Dr. De Wilde
Dr. Charlotte De Wilde was born in 1991 in Bruges, Belgium. She completed her medical undergraduate studies at Ghent University and graduated magna cum laude in 2015. She started her postgraduate radiology degree that same year and benefited from a very diverse training thanks to the support from the academic head of department at Ghent University (Prof. Dr. Verstraete). One year of her training was conducted at Makerere University in Uganda and six months at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. She obtained the European Diploma in Radiology and her specialist qualification in 2020. Dr. De Wilde decided to move to the Caribbean Islands, where she is now one of six radiologists at an accredited teaching hospital in the Dutch Caribbean, focussing mainly on oncology, emergency and breast imaging.
Dr. Alia Ghoneim obtained the Saudi board of radiology certification in December 2015 and the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in March 2016. She then had her Neuroradiology specialty training in Glasgow, UK from 2017 to 2019. She currently works as Neuroradiology consultant and assistant professor at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Alexandre Soler Perromat was born in 1990 and he is originally from Mallorca, Spain. He obtained his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He completed his radiology training in 2019 at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. Since then, he has been working there as a staff genitourinary and abdominal radiologist. He obtained the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in 2019 and he has special interest in educational activities.
Dr. Juan Carlos Soler Perromat studied medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He then underwent specialist training as a radiologist at Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. From 2019 to 2020 he worked as a musculoskeletal radiologist at Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital. Since 2021 he has been working as a staff musculoskeletal radiologist at Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. He obtained the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in 2019. He is interested in medical education and technological advancements.
