EDiR Holders

Among its best-performing EDiR candidates, the EBR has selected some of the most promising young radiologists from different countries and different backgrounds to form the “EDiR Holders” team.

The EDiR Holders are responsible for creating new material that is published twice a month on the blog with a view to helping other radiologists prepare for the EDiR.

Dr. Shweta Agarwal – MBBS, DMRD, DNB, FRCR (UK), EDiR, EDBI

Dr. Shweta Agarwal is one of the most renowned radiologists in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today with nearly two decades of experience. She currently leads breast imaging and diagnostic services at Allied Medical Center in Dubai. Additionally, gold medals and honours in MBBS and DMRD adorn her long list of achievements.

As an adept lead specialist breast radiologist, with extensive experience in performing and interpreting basic radiological procedures and interventional radiological procedures, she has well-rounded skill sets in diagnostic and management aspects.

Dr. Muhammed Said Beşler

Dr. Muhammed Said Beşler graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and completed his radiology training at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital. He completed a cardiac MRI observership at Royal Brompton Hospital in London. He was awarded a CIRSE Fellowship Grant in 2025 to train at St George’s Hospital, London. He earned the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in 2023 and the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) certification in 2024. He currently works in the interventional radiology unit at Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Medicine. His main research interests include interventional radiology, artificial intelligence, and innovative technologies in radiology.

Dr. Jurica Grzelja

Dr. Jurica Grzelja graduated from Medical School in Zagreb in 2016 and was the recipient of two Dean’s Awards during his education. He is the author of three EPOS posters at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR). His fields of interest include abdominal and thoracic imaging with a special focus on Paediatric radiology. In 2022 Dr. Grzelja was a clinical observer at the Radiology Department at Birmingham Children’s Hospital in England and later that year successfully took the EDiR exam in Vienna. He is currently working as an abdominal radiologist at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb.

Dr. Ezgi Güler

Dr. Ezgi Güler graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara in 2008. She completed her radiology residency at Hacettepe University in Ankara in 2013 and, since 2016, she has been working as an abdominal and genitourinary radiologist at Ege University Faculty of Medicine in Izmir. Currently, she is working as an associate professor in the same institution. She obtained the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in 2013. She attended her observership in abdominal radiology in Beaujon Hospital, Paris Sorbonne Cité University, in France. She completed her research fellowship in abdominal imaging at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in USA in 2019. She has research interests in abdominal and genitourinary imaging, oncologic imaging, and medical education.

Dr. Jakub Jaskólski

Dr. Jakub Jaskólski is a general radiologist at John Paul II Public Hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration in Kielce, Poland. He graduated from the Medical University of Silesia in 2016 and earned the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in Barcelona, January 2022.

With a passion for diagnostic excellence, Dr. Jaskólski specialises in musculoskeletal imaging and neuroimaging.

In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in medical education, sharing his expertise with the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Dr. Luca Laszip

Dr. Luca Laszip completed her radiology residency at the National Institute of Oncology in Budapest, Hungary, where she gained experience in a broad spectrum of cancer imaging.

She successfully obtained the European Diploma in Radiology in July of 2022. Now working as a specialist she has a particular interest in urogenital/gynaecologic oncology.

To further her knowledge and experience in these fields, she successfully completed an ESOR Fellowship in Vigo, Spain in 2024.

Dr. Matteo Mancino


Dr. Matteo Mancino is an abdominal radiologist, with a focus on genitourinary and emergency imaging and a background in artificial intelligence applied to imaging. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery and completed his radiology residency at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS in Rome, Italy. He earned the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in October 2025.

He completed a Bracco-ESOR Clinical and Research Fellowship in urogenital MRI at University Hospital Zurich (USZ), Switzerland, and a research fellowship in artificial intelligence at the Institute for AI in Medicine (IKIM/SHIP.AI), University Hospital Essen, Germany, under Prof. Felix Nensa. He currently works as a radiologist within the Emergency Radiology and Abdominal Radiology Unit at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where he is also active in research work and contributes to research grant projects focused on artificial intelligence.

His main clinical and research interests include genitourinary and breast imaging, emergency radiology, and artificial intelligence. He has authored multiple publications and presented his work at international congresses including ECR and RSNA, and is an active member of, among others, the ESR, ESUR, EUSOBI, and ESOI.

Dr. Rajesh Venunath Nair – MD, DNB, MNAMS, FVIR, EDiR, DICRI, EBIR

Dr. Rajesh Venunath Nair is a Specialist Interventional Radiologist at Jaber Al Ahmad Hospital, Ministry of Health, Kuwait, with over 10 years of experience. He completed his MD in Radiology in 2016 as a University rank holder and a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology from Manipal University in 2020. He earned the EDIR in Vienna (2022) and EBIR (2024).

His areas of interest include interventional oncology, head and neck radiology, and abdominal imaging. He has multiple publications and has presented at international forums including the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) and Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, and completed an observership at the Cleveland Clinic, USA.

Outside his professional work, he is passionate about travel, exploring global cuisines, experiencing diverse cultures, and is an avid animal lover.

Dr. Mihai Pomohaci

Dr. Mihai Pomohaci completed his radiology residency at Fundeni Clinical Institute, Bucharest, in 2024. He obtained both the Romanian Certificate in Radiology and the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in 2024.

Currently a PhD candidate at Carol Davila University of Medicine Bucharest, his research focuses on the development of artificial intelligence models for liver and hepatic lesion analysis. In 2023, he completed a 10-month research fellowship at Siemens Healthineers in Princeton, New Jersey, being actively involved in researching and developing AI models for liver imaging. In 2025, he pursued an ESOR-Bracco fellowship in abdominal imaging at Beaujon Hospital, France. He also serves as an Assistant Lecturer in the Radiology Department at Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest. His main clinical and research interests include interventional and abdominal imaging.

Dr. Mahmoud Rezk

Dr. Mahmoud Rezk is an Associate Professor and Consultant Radiologist at Cairo University, Egypt. He holds an MSc and PhD from Cairo University and is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate radiology education and training.

He regularly contributes to national educational activities through the Egyptian Society of Radiology and participates in Egyptian fellowship teaching programs. Internationally, he holds the FRCR (UK) and EDiR, and has been involved in multiple educational and academic initiatives with the European Society of Radiology.

Dr. Rezk completed a prestigious Hybrid and Molecular Imaging Fellowship at Umeå University Hospital, becoming the first fellow in this subspecialty under the ESHI/ESOR programme. In recognition of his expertise and educational contributions, he was appointed ESHI Ambassador for Egypt.

Dr. Alexandru Roman – MD, EDiR, Romanian Board

Dr. Alexandru Roman is a Double Board Certified Radiologist (EDiR and Romanian National Board) based in Bucharest, Romania. He completed his residency at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, with rotations at Fundeni Clinical Institute, Bucharest University Emergency Hospital, and Hospices Civils de Lyon – Hôpital Edouard Herriot, France.

His clinical focus lies in abdominal and pelvic radiology, combined with non-vascular interventional radiology. He approaches oncologic patients across the full spectrum — from diagnostic imaging to histopathological characterisation through CT- and MRI-guided percutaneous biopsy, and curative-intent treatment through microwave ablation.

He served as Vice President for Medical Education of the Romanian Residents’ Society and has presented at national radiology congresses on advanced post-processing methods in diagnostic imaging. He is an active contributor to EDiR educational content development at the European level.

Dr. Pablo Schvartzman

Dr. Pablo Schvartzman is a radiologist specialised in musculoskeletal imaging. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Imaging at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires and obtained his medical degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.

He earned the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in Barcelona in 2025 and is licensed to practice in Spain (Barcelona). He is currently part of the EDiR Holders Team, contributing to exam development.

Dr. Schvartzman has led musculoskeletal imaging departments at Centro Médico Deragopyan and Diagnóstico Médico in Buenos Aires, and has also worked at Instituto Oncológico Alexander Fleming. He has extensive experience in MRI, CT, arthro-MRI, and musculoskeletal imaging, as well as teleradiology services across Spain.

He currently works as Staff Radiologist at Centro Médico Alomar in Barcelona, coordinating and reporting musculoskeletal MRI and CT studies. He is a member of SAR, SERME, RSNA, and ESR, and has presented scientific work at major international congresses. His main professional focus is advanced musculoskeletal imaging and continuous academic development.

Dr. Vojtěch Sedlák

Dr. Vojtěch Sedlák completed his training at the Military University Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic, finishing his residency in 2024.

His primary interests lie in neuroradiology, imaging, and applied MR physics. He is actively involved in research, with a particular focus on the radiogenomics of brain tumors, and also enjoys teaching and mentoring graduate students.

He earned his European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in early 2024.

Dr. Woosung Seo

Dr. Woosung Seo completed his residency training at Uppsala University Hospital and Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden. He is currently a consultant in cardiothoracic radiology at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm.

He successfully obtained the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in 2024 and is joining the EDiR Holders Team from Sweden.

His main clinical and research interests include cardiothoracic imaging, neuroimaging, image-guided biopsy, artificial intelligence and medical education.
